Studio Danebo (pronounced: dā'-nə-bō) is the home for various creative projects by Joseph Mondragon. That's me!
I reside in a 100+ year old house in the beautiful Pacific northwest of the United States with my beloved spouse Sloan, along with our dogs Kevin and Kenny, our snake, Felix, and a whole bunch of houseplants.
I have been playing guitar, piano, and other instruments for over forty years. I enjoy composing mostly mellow instrumental and lyrical songs.
Words fascinate me. Reading, writing, and wordplay are lifelong passions. I enjoy writing songs, jokes, poems, short essays, training materials, and, of course, I have several novels and scripts that I am perpetually working on.
When I was 7 years old Leonardo Da Vinci was my hero and I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. As a young adult I took all the art classes at the local community college and was all set to move on to art school but ended up taking a different life path. Still, I have continued to enjoy photography, collage, and graphic design from then until now.
I caught a flu in January of 2019 and have yet to recover. At that time I was otherwise healthy so I did not recognize the downward trend at first. The lowest point came during the winter of 2020/2021 when I was bedridden and could hardly manage basic self-care. Now at the start of 2024 I am still primarily housebound, though my health continues to gradually improve.
